At least five cars stalled yesterday morning after refuelling with the contaminated petrol at United Fuel in Harbour Dr.
Apparently only those who fuelled with the E10 variety were affected.
Several motorists have since returned to the petrol station seeking claims for damage caused to their vehicles.
One affected motorist said it was not immediately clear what caused the breakdown of his vehicle but was later stung with a $1000 fuel pump bill from his tank.
