Chesterfield gas station investigated for possible contaminated gas

Filling up at the pump will probably cost some people more than the $3 a gallon after reports of bad gas. One woman was told a third of the gas she purchased was water.

“The entire system has to be flushed out. The pumps the lines the injectors. You are talking about thousands of dollars worth of things this could potentially damage,” Billy Allen, with Allen Tire, said.

The questionable fuel has stopped the pumps from flowing at the BP Gas Station and Corner Mart on Midlothian Turnpike near Winterfield Road.

A woman who didn’t want to be identified said she came to the gas station last Thursday and filled up her tank. Friday morning her Volvo wouldn’t start. She had the car towed to the dealership where mechanics found the watered-down gasoline.
