Tainted fuel at Middletown gas station causes vehicles to break down, auditor says

HAMILTON, Ohio — At least four drivers, including a mail carrier, were stranded Wednesday after receiving tainted gas at a Middletown gas station, according to the Butler County auditor.

The fuel tainted with water was sold at Madison Food Mart Shell at 2289 Middletown Eaton Road, Auditor Roger Reynolds said in a news release. The damage was so pronounced that police made the gas station bag their pumps, Reynolds said.
