Motorists warned of contaminated diesel at village gas station

Northfield Village — Customers who purchased diesel fuel at the Circle K gas station at 10216 Northfield Road yesterday after 9:40 a.m. should have their fuel tanks drained to prevent damage to their engines

 The gas station closed the pump last night and an inspector from the fiscal office arrived there this morning and confirmed the contamination.

The fiscal office has made arrangements to inspect the gas station’s diesel tank once it is cleared of contamination.He said motorists who may have purchased the contaminated fuel should have their fuel tanks drained and should not drive their vehicles to prevent damage to their ignition and fuel injection systems.
