Feds blame bad fuel from Utah company for Amtrak breakdowns

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A Utah oil company is to blame for an Amtrak train breakdown in 2011 that cost thousands in tax dollars, according to a federal complaint.

KSL-TV of Salt Lake City reports (http://bit.ly/2aJq78A ) that the U.S. Attorney’s Office alleges in a civil complaint in federal court that Sevier Valley Oil Co. sold contaminated diesel fuel to the train company.

The complaint, which was filed Friday, accuses the company of breach of contract and is seeking more than $400,000 in compensation and damages.
