Motorists warned to be vigilant after contaminated fuel leaves drivers to foot repair bills

Consumer advocacy group Choice has found evidence of petrol stations unknowingly selling tainted fuel, leaving angry motorists to cover thousands of dollars in repair costs.

In the past two years, three petrol stations in New South Wales have been caught selling tainted fuel costing customers between $500 and $21,000 in repairs – The Caltex at Eastern Creek, The Metro at Narwee in Sydney’s south and the United Petroleum at South Nowra were all among those identified.
