Motorists were left fixing their cars at the side of a petrol kiosk in interior Keningau when their vehicles broke down just after filling up their tanks last night.
And this was apparently because there was water in the fuel.
Disclosing that probably the incident was unintentional, Sabah Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry (KPDNKK) director Severinus Tukah, however, said they were investigating the matter and were expecting a full report soon.
“Initial investigations revealed that there was a leak to their underground fuel tank, causing water to seep in.
“We were notified by the petrol kiosk owner that several car owners were affected by the contaminated fuel, and that they are bearing the cost of fixing these vehicles,” said Severinus, when contacted by The Rakyat
