Bolingbrook Meijer mistakenly sells contaminated diesel fuel

BOLINGBROOK – Meijer is alerting customers who purchased diesel fuel from July 16 to July 21 at their location at 755 E. Boughton Road that it may have been contaminated with regular unleaded gasoline, according to a Meijer news release.

Records show that about 90 customers who pumped diesel into their vehicles from 9 p.m. July 16 to 6 p.m. July 21 may have been affected by the contaminated gasoline, according to the release.

One of the companies that Meijer uses to transport fuel to their gas stations accidentally put unleaded gasoline into the diesel fuel tank, which was already more than 50 percent full, according to Meijer spokesperson Frank Guglielmi.
