North Jersey Gas Station Accused of Putting Water in Fuel Tanks

A Hopatcong gas station is being accused of putting water in its holding tanks after two motorists had to bring their vehicles to mechanics earlier this week, Hopatcong Police said.

Police received two separate complaints on Monday, March 23, from Enrite Gas Station customers who claimed their cars would not run after fueling at the Hopatchung Road business, Lt. Thomas Kmetz said.

When the customers took their vehicles to their respective mechanics, both were found to have more than 50-percent of water in their gas tanks, Kmetz said.
