The warning comes after a local contractor caught fire while handling the contaminated fuel around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday in Amherst County.
“He was in the process of filling up a backhoe with diesel fuel, which was contaminated with what appears to be gasoline. Something ignited and he got burned,” Roakes said of the man, whose name hasn’t been released.
