Investigation underway into what caused Lewiston school buses to break down

superintendent of schools Bill Webster says it was not a bad batch of diesel fuel that caused 14 of the district's 42 school buses to either not start or break down Tuesday morning.

An investigation is underway at Hudson Bus Lines, the company contracted to provide school bus service to all eight schools in Lewiston.

Nearly 75 percent of the 5,300 students in the district ride the bus.

Webster said there was water in the fuel lines and they discovered frozen fuel filters in those 14 buses.

Exactly how and why that happened is under investigation.
