USDA announces grants this week to stimulate bioeconomy

This week, USDA announced that it is awarding nearly $10 million in grants. This funding will help to support advanced biofuel production and stimulate the country's bioeconomy.

USDA announced this week that it is awarding $5.6 million in grants to 220 producers  to support advanced biofuel production. It also is awarding more than $4 million grants intended to advance the country’s bioeconomy.

"Producing advanced biofuel is a major component of the drive to take control of America's energy future by developing domestic, renewable energy sources," said Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack.
