A couple claim they have been left with a £4,000 repair bill by contaminated supermarket fuel.

Jeanette Hall and her husband say they were left with the terrifying bill after using the fuel pumps at Barrhead Asda.

Last month it came to light that the supermarket giant was forced to carry out emergency repairs on the pumps as water had seeped in to the diesel.

This caused issues for a number of motorists who found they would need fuel systems bled and parts replaced including Kenneth Hill, 69, from Barrhead.

He found that his S-Type Jaguar was running rough and even received a sample of the contaminated fuel after taking it to the garage.
